Time slips away. A new campaign or two

Some time has elapsed since I last posted here.  South Dakota Democrats have several good candidates who are both good people and good campaigners ready to go to work for all the people of South Dakota..

Rick Weiland has been going everywhere in South Dakota talking to people all over.  He is getting ideas from lots of people and not just from special interests with deep pockets.  His primary GOP opponent is Marion Michael Rounds.  Rounds is an insurance agent whose campaign blows up the big print, but the fine print is that he is bought and paid for.  Rounds did not get $9 Million in "contributions" because he is either so brilliant or so nice.  His primary ads were sleazy deception from start of the campaign to the end.

Susan Wismer won the Democratic primary for SD Governor race.  Frankly, she needs to get out among real people and start saying something.  Her primary opponent seemed to have a lot more vigor and spark and did not beat around the bush on issues.  Republicans has Daugaard again.  Daugaard is all for the poor taking care of their own health costs.  He is refusing $45 million in federal money which would add thousands to the list of those insured and take them off the expenses of SD hospitals directly and of course save all of the rest of us money as well.  South Dakota Republicans are OK with federal money for every special interest already floating in money, but helping sick, unfortunate and often desperate neighbors with severe health problems is a sin in their self-righteous eyes.

I will round up the links for the Democratic candidate web sites, blogs, etc. and get them into another post here.

Thanks for taking a look at this and if you have the time, take a look at Dakota Today as well.
